Andranik Teymourian Life

Andranik Timotian-Samarani, also known as Andranik "Ando" Teymourian (born 6 March 1983), is an Iranian-Armenian footballer who is currently a free agent.

He usually plays as a defensive midfielder, but he will also play as a wide midfielder.

He was notably the first Christian to cap the Iranian national team from 2006 to 2010, including Bolton and Fulham in the Premier League and Barnsley in the Football League Championships. Teymourian played in his first match for Iran in 2005 and has been in their squads for the 2006 and 2014 World Cups, as well as the 2010 and 2015 Asian Cups.

Personal life

Serjik Teymourian, Andranik's elder brother, was also a football player and competed for 1. FSV Mainz 05 as a defensive midfielder and agent until his death in August 2020.

Club career

Andranik was born in Tehran, Iran, to ethnic Armenian parents. He began with Oghab F.C. He began playing for F.C. in Iran's Azadegan League and continued his professional career. Aboomoslem in the Iranian Premier League. Andranik made 26 appearances for F.C. in the 2005-2006 season. Aboomoslem scored one goal and got one point.

After being granted a work permit in late August 2006, he signed a two-year contract with FA Premier League side Bolton Wanderers for an undisclosed fee. In a 4–0 victory over Doncaster Rovers on January 6, 2007, he scored his first two goals for Bolton Wanderers in the FA Cup third round, his third appearance. Andranik continued to play full Premier League against Fulham on February 11, 2007. On April 7, 2007, his first two league goals came during a man-of-the-match win over Wigan Athletic, a local rival.

Andranik signed a two-year deal with Fulham on June 12, 2008 after arriving on a free transfer. He made his Fulham debut against Arsenal, assisting in the 1–0 triumph. On February 2, 2009, he went on loan to Barnsley of the Football League Championship until the end of the season. He later said he wanted to stay with Fulham for the 2009–10 season. Andranik had been released from his Fulham deal on July 1, 2010.

Teymourian was named in Blackburn Rovers' squad to face Southport FC in a pre-season friendly against Southport FC in July 2010.

After turning down a tour with Blackburn Rovers across Australia, Teymourian began talks with Sheffield United on July 22nd. As Speed and Teymourian played together at Bolton Wanderers, Blades coach Gary Speed was reported to have recommended Teymourian to Blades boss Kevin Blackwell. Teymourian started talks with Blackburn Rovers about a contract to keep with the Premier League club, even on a short-term basis. Since he was refused a work permit, the move fell apart.

Teymourian's career in England came to an end on September 19th, 2010 as he rejoined Iran for the Tabriz-based club Tractor.

Teymourian had signed a deal with Tehran and IPL club Esteghlal, according to the report in mid-July 2011. Against Sepahan, he made his debut for the club. He was ranked as one of the top ten finalists for the Asian Player of the Year on November 9, 2011. In his first season, he captured the Hazfi Cup.

Teymourian has signed a one-year contract with Al Kharagiyat SC, which is worth $1.8 million. He left the club after his deal came to an end on July 1st.

After signing a three-year deal with the club, Teymourian returned to Esteghlon on July 18, 2013. In a 2–1 loss to Sepahan, he made his debut on his debut. In a match against Buriram United, which Esteghlal defeated 2–1, he scored a 40-yard goal. Teymourian suffered from a fractured arm and was out of play for a month. Esteghlal finished the season in fifth place and missed next years' Champions League. He returned to the fields in the league's two final games.

Teymourian was named the best player on the season's annual awards ceremony on August 2, 2014, and he was named on August 2nd.

Teymourian started working for Tractor in December 2014 on an 18-month deal. On his debut in a match against Saba Qom, he scored a free-kick.

Teymourian signed with Umm Salal, Qatar's 13 July 2015, on July 13. After a spat with the head coach, Bülent Uygun, and only 14 appearances, he left the club halfway through the season in January 2016.

Teymourian agreed to a six-month contract with Saipa on January 19, 2016, having previously worked with Tehran-based club Esteghlal and Thailand's Buriram United. Because of his injury, he was able to attend four games for the club before leaving in July 2016.

Teymourian returned to Tabriz in July 2016 and signed a one-year deal with newly promoted Persian Gulf Pro League club Machine Sazi.

International career

Teymourian competed with Iran national teams at the youth level before being selected to play with the senior team. During the 2006 World Cup, he was a member of the national team. Images of a mentally and physically drained Teymourian at the conclusion of Iran's last game of the 2006 World Cup have begun to emerge in the form of Iran's most famous photograph from the occasion. While trainers looked after Teymourian, he collapsed to the ground and began sobbing. Because of the enthusiasm he showed for his country in the 2006 World Cup, he has been recognized as a national hero in Iran. He appeared in the 2007 and 2011 Asian Cups, as well as the WAFF Championships. The midfielder firmly established his position as a starter next to Javad Nekounam, leading Iran to qualify for the 2014 World Cup.

Teymourian captained Iran in the match against Belarus on May 18, making him the first Christian to cap the Iranian national team. Carlos Queiroz, a Brazilian footballer, was called into Iran's 2014 FIFA World Cup squad on June 1, 2014. He played the full 90 minutes in all three group stage matches, becoming the highest-capped Iran player at the World Cup with six matches alongside Mehdi Mahdavikia. Carlos Queiroz, an Iranian, was named in Iran's 2015 AFC Asian Cup squad on December 30, 2014. In the tournament, he had three assists.

Teymourian was appointed as the new captain of Iran following Javad Nekounam's resignation prior to the 2018 FIFA World Cup's launch. He is notably the first Christian to captain the Iranian national team.

In a 1–0 victory over Uzbekistan, Teymourian earned his 100th cap for the national team.
