Ana Bárbara Career

Career

Bárbara competed in 1988 for the local Miss Universe-sponsored Miss Mexico beauty pageant representing her home state of San Luis Potos; however, she failed at the national level. By then, an unidentified Altagracia Ugalde began to perform at local talent shows and at times perform at a variety of music festivals and festivals. In the 1990s, she had the opportunity to tour Colombia and represent Mexico's mariachi music.

Bárbara was named Ambassador of Ranchera Music in 1993. She has also been awarded the El Rostro Bonito de México ("The Heraldo's Beautiful Face") award. As a result, she was invited to attend Pope John Paul II at a Mass at The Vatican. As Mass was coming to an end, she realized she was no longer able to sing, so she interrupted the proceedings, demanded the Pope's attention, and began to sing. After mass Pope John Paul II visited her, he blessed her and wished her luck in her future. She was first noticed by record executives from Fonovisa, one of the top brands in the regional Mexican market, in 1994. Ana Bárbara is the creator of Fonovisa's artistic stage name "Ana Bárbara" and her self-titled debut album Ana Bárbara. Anbal Pastor wrote and edited the album; fellow Mexican singer Joan Sebastian contributed to the songwriting. Bárbara was aided in her formation as a Grupero actress by songs such as Sacdeme and Nada. In July 1995, Bárbara's second album, La Trampa, was also produced by Anbal Pastor. La Trampa reignited her fame, becoming a commercial and radio sensation. Both nationally and international artists, including Vicente Fernandez and Los Tigres del Norte, have been rewarded, as well as invitations to tour and open for some of Mexico's top regional performers, such as Vicente Fernandez and Los Tigres del Norte. Sabado Gigante and Siempre en Domingo are two of her most famous Latin American television programs. Me Asusta Perpeta and La Trampa, two of the top Billboard Hot Latin Songs, established her as La Reina Grupera (the Queen of Grupero Music), with consistent hits and hit songs, including Me Asusta Perpeta and La Trampa.

With third album Ay, Amor, Bárbara broke through to mainstream international fame by the summer of 1996. The album established her as a top Latin recording artist and also became her best album debut on the Latin Billboard charts. Ay, Amor, and even some ranchero flavored ballads such as No Ha Sido Facil and Entre Ella y Yo also appealed to her audience by providing some alternative interpretations of Grupero and even some ranchero flavored ballads such as No Ha Sido Facil. During promotional tours with hit singles and music videos of No Lloraré and Ya No Te Creo Nada, her charisma and sensual dancing style captivated Latin American audiences. In 1997, she published her first and only calendar. Bárbara was also selected as the company's Hispanic promotional figure for promotion and advertising by Coors Light beer. Later this year, she returned to Miami, Florida, for the annual Calle 8 Music Festival, where she was crowned "Queen" of the 1997 parade. In 1998, she released her fourth studio album by Mexican singer-songwriter Marco Antonio Sols. Los Besos No Se Dan En La Camisa was mainly a ballads album with just one Grupero-style song on the album. Sols' duet and background vocals, as well as a 1982 Los Bukis cover of "Como Me Haces Falta" which quickly became a hit. The song also dominated airwaves in Latin America, México, and the United States, as it appeared on televisions. Ana Bárbara's following soared as her fame increased. Tu Decisión, Anbal Pastor's fifth studio album, was released in 1999. "Engada," one of his two songwriting credits, became the album's lead single and most popular hit. Tu Decisión was also notable in songwriting terms because it marked Ana Bárbara's debut as a songwriter. In the same year, she debuted as an actress, staring in the made-for-TV film Todo Contigo by Hispanic networks Televisa and Univision. In album Tu Decisión, the film's song "Todo Contigo" was included. On television shows like Onda Max and other music video television networks, music videos like "Quise Olvidar" soared in popularity. The following year, Bárbara became the first solo grupero act to be lauded by The Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences for album Tu Decisión, which received a Latin Grammy award for Best Grupero Album.

When her first child, Emiliano, was born in 2000, Bárbara took a short maternity leave. Te Regalo La Lluvia, Te Regalo La Lluvia's sixth studio album, returned in 2001. The Mariachi-ballad campaign was a blow to her custom Grupero style; however, business commentators who had dismissed Bárbara as simply "a grupero novelty based chiefly on sex appeal" took her and her music a bit more seriously. She received her second Latin Grammy Award for Best Ranchero Album in the fall. She performed in "El ltimo Adiós (The Last Goodbye)," a tribute to the 9/11 attacks that featured other performers, including Alejandro Fernández, Marco Antonio Sols, Thala, and Ricky Martin. Te Regalo La Lluvia, Bárbara's album, was on sale, and she began work on a Grupero-style album.

Bárbara began producing her own work after many years as a recording artist. She took control of her music and began to compose, arrange, and pick her own songs and melodies, but not in the same way as previous albums.

Te Atraparé...Bandido was released in September 2003; it became one of her most well-received albums to date. Sooner, record executives demanded for a sequel, and Loca de Amar was released in May 2005. She continued booking success with chart-topping singles like Bandido, Deja, Loca, and Lo Busqué, which ruled airwaves in South America, Mexico, and the United States, as well as Billboard Hot Latin Tracks.

Selena VivIVE!, a commemoration tribute concert held in honor of Latin music legend Selena, took place in April 2005. Thal'a, Ana Gabriel, Alejandra Guzman, Olga Tanon, Pepe Aguilar, and Banda el Recodo were among the celebrity-studded performances held at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, on April 7, 2005. The enduring tribute was produced by Spanish-language television network Univision and made history by becoming the most watched Spanish-language television special in the United States. Bárbara created and co-wrote a new version of "La Carcacha" that combined Selena's original version with her Grupero signature style.

Loca de Amar, Bárbara's album, received a Latin Grammy Award for Best Grupero Album in the fall of 2005. This was also Bárbara's debut at the Grammy Awards, where she performed a medley of Lo Busqué and Loca.

Although her career was at its peak, she took a brave decision to step away from music for the first time. She put her career on hold for several years to devote her attention to her new family. Emilio Fernandez (born in 2005) and Paula Fernandez (born in 2001) also relocated to Cancn, México, with newly married Pirru and their joint children Emiliano Gallardo (born in 2000). José Mara, José Mara's second child, was born in the fall of 2006. She began working in the food industry during her "time off." Chocolate City, She founded an exclusive restaurant in Cancn, Quintana Roo, México, opened in 2007. The restaurant was relocated to plaza La Isla, but Sabina Montero followed it later. La Casa de Los Abuelos was renamed after being renamed. Ana Bárbara's entrepreneurial spirit was once more expanded in 2008 by opening Bandido, a nightclub. The nightclub was also located in Cancn, Quintana Roo, México; however, it was sold to a business investor a year later.

Bárbara made a special appearance in a star-studded concert in honor of legendary Mexican artist José José José José José José José José José José José José José José José José José José in July 2008. Lo Pasado, Pasado, she was recognized for one of the evening's best shows of the evening, and she delivered a hit called Lo Pasado, Pasado. She was also praised for being the night's best dressed.

Fonovisa Records was bought out by Universal Music Latin Entertainment, and new record executives threatened her for a new album soon after. For the fall of 2009, she revealed a new album. Maite Perroni and Eva Longoria were among the many celebrities on the "People en Espaol" list in April 2009, including Maite Perroni and Eva Longoria.

During her time off, a number of compilation albums and DVDs were released, including Una Mujer, Un Sueo, and Mi Historia. Alicia Villarreal, Jennifer Pena, and Selena were among the Compilation albums starring peers, Fonovisa. After taking almost five years off from recording, Bárbara remained a fan of the music industry. "She has not only ruled Grupero, but Ana Bárbara is one of the driving factors behind the Grupero-style revival," AllMusic.com said. She began to deviate from her Grupero roots and then progressed to Latin Pop during album Rompiendo Cadenas' pre-planning and creative realization. With the debut of Rompiendo Cadenas, an uptempo Urban/Pop album by Dominican duo Lunny Tunes starring Reggaeton duo Dyland & Lenny, this musical shift became evident in the fall of 2009. Rompiendo Cadenas' music video was shot in La Habana, Cuba, and gained over four million views on YouTube, despite being young. On November 12, 2009, Rompiendo Cadenas debuted at number 39 on Billboard's Latin Pop Songs. Two alternate interpretations of "Rompiendo Cadenas" on iTunes debuted on iTunes, one in banda and another in acoustic. In January 2010, Bárbara introduced her Latin pop album Rompiendo Cadenas. She referred to the departure of label Fonovisa Records during its press conference. Rompiendo Cadenas' album was not only an homage to a completely different style, but she was also the sole songwriter of the 10-track album, a challenge she had never attempted with. In addition, Fonovisa Records has requested that you reconsider and change the music style, or cancel the deal entirely. Ana Bárbara left Fonovisa after rising challenges and launched Rompiendo Cadenas on her own record label AB Productions (Lo Busqué Productions).

In February 2010, she hosted a series of activities for Hispanic networks Univision and TeleFutura. Vaughn Manuelle, a Puerto Rican singer, hosted the 2010 Lo Nuestro Awards live from Miami, Florida. The best dressed celebrity in Britain was selected by Bárbara. She appeared in a star-studded Spanish remake of Michael Jackson's We Are the World, titled Somos El Mundo alongside Juanes, Juan Luis Guerra, Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee, Thala, Pitbull, Jenni Rivera, and Luis Miguel. Selena, a deceased Latin icon, was honoured at a televised music festival the same month. She has also been judge for a special Selena competition titled Buscando la doble de Selena, alongside Hollywood singer Moctesuma Esparza and Merengue music singer Milly Quezada. The second single from Rompiendo Cadenas premiered to mixed reviews in March 2010. Although the lead track "Rompiendo Cadenas" became the album's most popular hit, Latin rock band "Que Iron" actually indicated that her patent formula was starting to run out of steam. The track was also available on a pop version, but no one sparked much curiosity in radio or the general public. Bárbara later revealed that the song was originally written and intended for Mexican pop singer Gloria Trevi, but when her eldest son Emiliano reassured her that she could face a new challenge, she decided to take it on her own. The following month, a music video premiered, with over a million views. Despite the fact that Rompiendo Cadenas' sales figures were not as strong as previous attempts, the album did receive critical acclaim and was well-received by fans. In May 2010, she released two new Latin pop songs. "Ahora Tengo," a duet starring Mexican singer-songwriter Reyli, was released in New York and premiered in June 2010. "Alma Peregrina," Univision's mini-series Mujeres Asesinas 3, was the next song.

Some of her projects included an appearance in Una Familia Con Suerte's soap opera; the cameo role was her first appearance in a soap opera. Ana Bárbara performed Suerte, which was also included in the soap opera soundtrack. "Refugio Para el Amor," she's latest Latin pop bonus track and music video, but they received a lukewarm audience in the fall.

Bárbara began writing and producing tracks for a new regional Mexican album, which was released for the first time in banda, following an unsuccessful period and feeling it was time to change direction both personally and professionally. In April 2012, she revealed a new single and filming a TV show. With her three children, she and her three children migrated to Los Angeles, the United States. Marco Antonio Sols, a 1993 Los Bukis cover, was released as a stand-alone banda single "Tu Ingratitud." In July 2012, a music video was released and gained over three million views on YouTube, with just over three million. "Tu Ingratitud" debuted at number one in Mexico and the top 20 in the United States and South America. The album soon rose to international fame, and Bárbara's return to music charts and touring followed it. In each of their latest albums, she worked with peers including Mara José, Anah, and La Original Banda El Limon. In July 2012, she became Estrella TV's music and reality competition's newest judge, Mucho Talento. After Rivera left Rivera to judge La Voz Mexico, she replaced fellow Mexican singer Jenni Rivera for the seventh season. "Dos Abrazos," a song written by Bárbara from her multi-Grammy nominated album No Es Brujera's 2012 Hollywood motion picture Border Run, appeared in Sharon Stone's "Dos Abrazos" in October 2012. In her 11th studio album, a banda version of "Dos Abrazos" was later re-released. The motion picture was released in February 2013 and went straight to DVD. During the Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Márquez IV fight live from Las Vegas, Nevada, Bárbara sang México's national anthem.

Bárbara hosted the 2013 Latin Billboard Music Awards live from Miami, Florida, on the Telemundo network; however, her best highlight was an impromptu "a capella" serenade to Latin music icon Jose Jose Jose. She returned to small television soap operas in July. She appeared in the Televisa and Univision soap opera Amores verdaderos grand finale, where she performed the famous Franco de Vita ballad "Tu De Que Vas" for the first time. She became the face of "Yo Soy La Mujer" in August, Telemundo's soap opera Marido En Alquiler's theme tune. In a banda version of La Voz Kids' grand finale, she premiered "Yo Soy la Mujer." Jenni Rivera, a Mexican singer, was honoured in the 2013 Premios de la Radio's tribute; she performed "Inolvidable" in honor of Rivera's most popular hits. During the 8th and the 9th season of Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento, she continued filming small televisions. She premiered "Yo Ya No Estoy," on the reality show finale in November. She began releasing "Yo Soy La Mujer" on December 3, 2013, after a long wait to concentrate on family and filming a small television. Although she had been playing and composing for more than a decade, her eleventh studio album was her first full banda seta song. "Yo Soy La Mujer" is sentimental but amusing, according to her during a press interview at The Congo Room; it is a blend of traditional and modern banda elements as well as sounds that pay homage to my roots and childhood. Joan Sebastian ("Los Cazahuates"), Marco Antonio Sols ("Tu Ingratitud"), José Antonio Sols ("Te Vas o Te Quedas"), and Reyli ("Yo Ya No Estoy") were among the 10-track album's songs on display, as well as Reyli ("Yo Ya No Estoy"). The album reached No. 1 on the charts. Top Latin Albums in the United States and yielded her best studio album debut in over a decade. On her official Vevo account, as well as a Latin pop version, a music video for lead single "Ahora Me Toca A M" premiered.

Yo Soy La Mujer was first released in México in February 2014, and a limited edition of "Al Pie de rbol" and "Como Quieras Quiero" were included in the album; a limited edition of two previously unreleased tracks were included in México. Bárbara named the Yo Soy La Mujer Celebrity 20 Agos de Trayectoria tour in honour of her 20-year musical career in January 2014, recognizing that the tour represented the end of an era and the start of a new one in her professional life. In La Paz, Bolivia, the tour began around the world. The tour included Peru, Chile, and other countries in South America and Central America, as well as major cities in the United States. On CNN en Espaol, she premiered her second single "A Donde Crees Que Vas." Not only did she become a self-proclaimed "advocate of woman liberation," but her music videos and wardrobe ensembles revealed a more sex-appeal than ever before. "Nia de mis Ojos" was a duet with K'ala Marka.

On April 12, 2014, Bárbara celebrated two decades in the music business at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California. Juan Gabriel, Lola Beltran, and José Alfredo Jiménez performed hits from her setlist, medleys of her debuts, and classics from icons Juan Gabriel, Lola Beltran, and José Alfredo Jiménez. Marco Antonio Sols' surprise appearance at the intimate show was full of surprises, including Marco Antonio Sols' unexpected appearance, who was on hand to personally congratulate her and perform a duet. During the performance, singers such as Pepe Aguilar, Cristian Castro, and Enrique Iglesias expressed love and admiration. The two-hour special aired on Estrella TV in October 2014. In Guatemala, she ended the Yo Soy La Mujer tour to a crowd of over eighteen thousand people.

Ana Bárbara launched an eleven U.S. city national tour, beginning in San Francisco on New Year's Eve 2015. The tour was scheduled to travel through Seattle, Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago, Houston, and other major cities. She is also one of Compass, Toy Selectah & Camilo Lara's star-studded new album, which is due out in early 2015.
