Aloma Wright (born March 10, 1950) is an American actress best known for her appearances on the ABC/ABC comedy series Scrubs (2001–2009), as Maxine Landis on the ABC drama series Private Practice (2011–2013) and as Gretchen Bodinski on the ABC drama series Suits (2015–2019).
Early life
Wright was born in New York and raised in California. She attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City.
Career
Wright began acting on stage before appearing in films including Stuart Saves His Family, Devil in the Flesh, and Shadow Hours, as well as television shows including Suddenly Susan, Dangerous Minds, Frasier, Friends, and Judging Amy. In 1998, she appeared in the Fox series Power Rangers in Space for the second time. Cedric's mother was on the Steve Harvey show as coach Cedric's mother.
Wright appeared in the NBC comedy film Scrubs in 2001 as Laverne Roberts. In "My Long Goodbye," her character was killed off after six seasons.
