Aloma Wright (born March 10, 1950) is an American actress best known for her appearances on the ABC/ABC comedy series Scrubs (2001–2009), as Maxine Landis on the ABC drama series Private Practice (2011–2013) and as Gretchen Bodinski on the ABC drama series Suits (2015–2019).

Career

Wright began acting on stage before appearing in films including Stuart Saves His Family, Devil in the Flesh, and Shadow Hours, as well as television shows including Suddenly Susan, Dangerous Minds, Frasier, Friends, and Judging Amy. In 1998, she appeared in the Fox series Power Rangers in Space for the second time. Cedric's mother was on the Steve Harvey show as coach Cedric's mother.

Wright appeared in the NBC comedy film Scrubs in 2001 as Laverne Roberts. In "My Long Goodbye," her character was killed off after six seasons. Nurse Shirley, Sherrill, appeared in season seven as a new character. Initial reports indicated that her character would be Laverne's alcoholic, irreligious sister, but this turned out to be inaccurate. As JD is reflecting back on all the people in his life, she later returned to play Nurse Roberts in the season 8 finale, "My Finale." Wright appeared on NYPD Blue, Cold Case, NCIS, and Mad Men in the 2000s. She appeared in films including Bring It On, The Brothers, Mr. She also had supporting roles in films such as Bringing It On, Mr. The Deeds and Johnson Family Vacation.
