A 33-year-old woman from 'Healthy' Virginia has her leg amputated after a heavy bout of FLU caused her organs to shut down.'

Allison Miller, a Virginia girl, had her left leg amputated above the knee after her flu virus infection developed into sepsis. Both of her lungs had a fever that had caused an infection in the air sacs. This quickly escalated to sepsis, but the immune system helps with widespread inflammation. She was put into a induced coma, but her left leg was cut off, prompting doctors to amputate it from above the knee. Ms Miller now wears a prosthetic, but claims that this hasn't stopped her from traveling. She is sharing her experience in the hopes of urging others to obtain the flu vaccine.
