Allison DuBois (born January 24, 1972) is an American writer and ostensible medium.
DuBois has said she used her psychic abilities to support US law enforcement officers in solving crimes, forming the basis of the television show Medium. Gary Schwartz of the University of Arizona had her abilities as a medium.
Schwartz claimed that his study supports DuBois' psychic abilities, while skeptical readers have pointed out flaws in both DuBois' claims and Schwartz's study.
Allison's experiences inspired Medium, and she acts as a consultant for the show.
She claims she has visions of both the past and the future, but it's mainly the hopes that help the police solve crimes.
Early life
DuBois was born in Phoenix, Arizona, where she attended both North High School in Phoenix and Corona del Sol High School in Tempe. Despite being dropped out, she obtained her GED at the age of 16. She spent her time as an intern at the district attorney's office in Phoenix. She earned her B.A. From Arizona State University, I received a minor in political science with a minor in history.
Personal life
Mike Gomez and Tienna DuBois, DuBois' parents, divorced when she was young. Tienna divorced and divorced her again when Allison was 12. DuBois' debut book describes her stepdad's public appearance with his new family. DuBois is married to Joe Klupar, and they have three children: Aurora, Fallon, and Sophia. DuBois believes that her children have inherited her psychic abilities.
At a dinner party hosted by Camille Grammer (now Camille Meyer), DuBois made a one-time appearance on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2010. Although inebriated, she made vehement comments about the other women and sparked a major clash with Kyle Richards and Faye Resnick.
Career
DuBois identifies herself as a medium and profiler rather than a psychic, rather than a psychologist because of the negative connotation she feels is associated with the term "psychic." When she was 6 years old, she believed she could connect with departed souls. DuBois says she uses this ability to link deceased loved ones to the living and then help law enforcement agencies solve crimes, such as the Texas Rangers and the Glendale, Arizona police department, as well as the Glendale, Arizona, police department, and that she also used these skills as a jury consultant. These law enforcement agencies have since either denied or said that the recommendations provided by DuBois were not beneficial.
Allison DuBois spent four years at the University of Arizona to help with their investigations of mediums and psychic phenomena, according to TV Guide. DuBois has psychic abilities, according to Gary Schwartz, project manager, "Anyone who hasn't looked closely at the data will come to the conclusion that there is something very real going on here." Schwartz says DuBois accurately characterized a Schwartz's friend who had just died at their first meeting. Schwartz, an impatient, conducted a series of interviews, one of which DuBois claimed she contacted the late husband of a woman in England after knowing only the woman's name. After reading a transcript of the interview, the woman admitted that 80% of what DuBois said was correct. Schwartz wrote an article titled The Truth About Medium, which summarized his findings. DuBois' statement: She does not endorse the book or Schwartz.
The television drama Medium, which aired on NBC and CBS from 2005 to 2011, is based on Allison DuBois' book Don't Kiss Them Good-Bye. Glenn Gordon Caron, the show's creator of Moonlighting and other television shows and who also serves as one of the writers for the script, was responsible for the series. It is produced by CBS Television Studios (having acquired the television production arm of original producer Paramount Pictures) and Grammnet, the production company owned by Cheers and Frasey Grammer. At Caron's behest, Patricia Arquette was brought to play DuBois. DuBois wrote in the January 9, 2005, TV Guide that she initially believed Arquette was too liberal to play her, adding, "I mean, I have a gun, and I have put people on death row." I wanted to make sure it wasn't something that wasn't bothering her. However, she told me that she expected some people to have it coming."
Every episode is not a biography of my life; it is simply based on my personal experiences." It's an accurate representation of my life and the people who share it with a little Hollywood magic thrown in," DuBois said. Both in her book and in Sci Fi Weekly's January 3, 2005 edition, she states that the program closely mimics her own experience. Several aspects of Arquette's character match DuBois' life, such as the name of her husband on the show (Joe) and the fact that he is an aerospace engineer. Both the character and the real-life DuBois have three children, and the first time the character "consults" on the show's pilot is with the Texas Rangers, the law enforcement agency with whom the real-life DuBois claims she first worked.
