Personal life

Larter left Los Angeles to pursue acting after her time as a model. She migrated to New York for a three-year period in 2002. Larter defended the move in an interview with Phillymag: Apparently, Larter gave the reasons:

In January 2005, she returned to Los Angeles for a role in Heroes. Larter and her then-longtime boyfriend, Hayes MacArthur, were engaged to marry in December 2007. They had met on the set of National Lampoon's Homo Erectus. "I told my boyfriend after three weeks that I wanted to marry him and that we should do it tomorrow," Larter said in a 2007 interview with Cosmo. At MacArthur's parents' house in Kennebunkport, Maine, Larter's close friend Amy Smart was present on August 1, 2009. The couple later bought a three-story house in the Hollywood Hills for $2.9 million.

On July 20, 2010, Larter announced that she and MacArthur were expecting their first child, and later, on the Jimmy Fallon show, she and MacArthur announced that she was expecting a boy. Ali Larter Career

Career

She began modeling at the age of 14 when a modeling scout was introduced on the streets and was invited to appear in a Philadelphia commercial; this led to a modeling job with the prestigious Ford Modeling Agency in New York. Larter stayed away from modeling in Australia, Italy, and Japan, the former a country where she would temporarily settle in at the age of seventeen. According to Larter, Larter met fellow model and aspiring actress Amy Smart while modeling in Italy, and the two "became instant friends."

Allegra Coleman was the fictional actress played by Larter in an Esquire magazine prank in November 1996. "When the door opens in Hollywood for you," Larter said, "you must run with it."

You know?"

Larter is currently signed to IMG Models. She appeared in many television shows in 1997 for the first time in professional acting. She appeared in a Brooke Shields television series Suddenly Susan and the short-lived series Chicago Sons. These performances were followed by a number of other appearances on Dawson's Creek, Chicago Hope, and Just Shoot Me!

Larter made her film debut in the coming-of-age drama Varsity Blues, which reunited her with Dawson's Creek star James Van Der Beek and close friend Amy Smart. Smart had advised Larter not to audition for the film, in which she played Darcy Sears, a love interest for one of the main characters. Varsity Blues' domestic box office gross exceeded US$53 million. She appeared in the teen comedies Giving It Up and Drive Me Crazy in 1999 and 1999, and in the remake of Haunted Hill, which cost about US$20 million. Critics panned the horror film for inviting a group of strangers to a party at an abandoned asylum, but it went on to gross over US$15 million on its first weekend and then went on to earn over US$40 million.

Clear Rivers, one of the main characters in the teen supernatural horror film Final Destination (2000), was starring Larter. Devon Sawa and Kerr Smith were among the movie's protagonists who survived a plane crash but were then stalked and killed by Death itself. At the end of the theatrical run, Final Destination made US$112 million. She appeared on Reese Witherspoon's comedy Legally Blonde in 2001. Brooke Taylor Windham, a widow who was charged with her husband's murder, appeared on television. In its first weekend, the film debuted at number 20 million in the United States and ended up grossing $141 million worldwide. Legally Blonde is Larter's highest-grossing film nationally, with US$96 million deriving from domestic markets.

In the western comedy American Outlaws, Larter debuted as Zerelda Mimms. The film, directed by Les Mayfield and co-starring Colin Farrell and Scott Caan, was poorly received by critics and the box office, grossing US$13 million at the end of its theatrical run. She also appeared in Kevin Smith's Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, as a teenager. Larter appeared on Maxim magazine and appeared in the stage play The Vain Monologues in New York City this year. Larter went from Los Angeles to New York in spring 2002. In an interview, Larter said, "I was too young and impressionable to deal with Los Angeles's pressures." I am no longer the little girl who could be easily controlled."

In the sequel to Final Destination 2, she would reprise her role as Clear Rivers. "When New Line asked me to come back, I thought it was fantastic," Larter said in an interview with IGN. The script was shown to me and allowed me to have some input, and it was really cool." To a mixed critical reaction, the film earned US$90 million around the world. Larter appeared in and appeared in the thriller Three Way a year ago. During an interview with Resident Evil: Extinction, Larter discussed future production ventures: "I certainly have many suggestions and different avenues that I want to explore as my career progresses." She appeared in the independent political thriller Confess in 2005 and was involved in Amanda Peet and Ashton Kutcher's romantic comedy A Lot Like Love in 2005.

In 2005, Larter returned to Los Angeles. Heroes, the NBC science fiction drama television series, was her first audition. On the show produced by Tim Kring, Larter portrayed Niki Sanders, who suffered from DID, and Tracy Strauss. Niki Sanders, Larter's first wife, mother, and a former internet stripper from Las Vegas who displays superhuman strength and alternate personalities under the name Jessica and Niki. "Ali read for the part and just owned it from the second she walked in," Kring wrote to the Chicago Tribune, "It was an amazing audition." Tracy Strauss, a woman who had the ability to freeze objects, began to act in the third season, and later, transform her body into water.

In Marigold (2006), Larter played the title role alongside Salman Khan. The film was released in August 2007 and centered on an American actress (Larter) who goes to India and becomes immersed in Bollywood's exotic world. Filming in North India and London began in June 2004 and was ongoing. "I have no formal education, so I have no expert training, so I can actually focus on the person and loved this journey and the lessons she had," Larter said in an interview with the BBC. For her role in the film, she was paid seven-figures.

Claire Redfield, who appeared in Resident Evil: Extinction in 2007, portrayed Claire Redfield, who in the film is the leader of a group of zombie apocalypse refugees looking for a safe haven. Her role brought her to Mexicali, Mexico, from May to late July, and she wanted her hair to be dyed a light red. Claire Larter outlined her character: "She became the face of this convoy." She is a natural performer and patient. I believe she has a place in this world, whether it be a mother to someone, a mentor, or a good friend. Despite poor reviews, the film earned US$147 million worldwide. She appeared with Hayes McArthur in the comedy Homo Erectus and appeared as Evelyn Garland in the biographical drama Crazy, based on guitarist Hank Garland, in the same year.

In the Screen Gems-produced thriller Obsessed (2009), Larter appeared alongside Beyoncé and Idris Elba. The film follows an office executive (Elba) whose marriage to Knowles is jeopardized by a coworker portrayed by Larter's ferocious interests. "I was excited to get the chance to play a femme fatale," Larter said in an interview with Glam. I love playing women that are young and vulnerable, as well as ones that are full of a little bit of crazy emotion." Despite mixed critiques, Larter was lauded for her role. "The film was a "dim reworking of Fatal Attraction," Derek Malcolm of The London Evening Standard said, "the pathological minx is the best part of it." Obsessed opened with US$28 million in its first weekend, earning a total domestic revenue of US$68 million, becoming Larter's second highest-grossing film in North-America. It resulted in Larter's third Teen Choice Award nomination and an MTV Movie Award for Best Fight with Beyonce.

Larter revived her role in Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010), which was shot in 3D and saw her character befuddled and physically manipulated by the fictional Umbrella Corporation before being saved by Alice (Milla Jovovich). The film, like the previous Resident Evil films, received critical feedback, but it went on to be a major commercial success, grossing US$296 million worldwide. "I think people liked me as her granddaughter," Claire Martin said in a JoBlo.com interview; "I'm excited that they brought me back [...] I'm excited that they brought me back [...]" "The man [Paul W. Anderson] who envisioned this world and this vision was the reason for her excitement about joining this new iteration." In 2010, Larter appeared as the title character in a Absolut Vodka short film titled "Lemon Drop." Following the success of Afterlife, Larter took a career break to concentrate on her family.

In the comedy Lovesick (2014), Larter returned to the big screen to play the love interest of a wealthy but psychotic man (Matt LeBlanc). The film was screened at the 15th annual Newport Beach Film Festival and then released on VOD and select theaters. In the independent drama You're Not You (2014), directed by George C. Wolfe and starring Hilary Swank, Emmy Rossum, and Josh Duhamel, she portrayed the "fair-weather" friend of a woman with ALS.

Larter earned a regular role in TNT's first season of Legends in 2014, as Crystal Quest, an FBI agent with the FBI's Deep Cover Operations. As Madison, a single mother who wrestles demons in her household, Larter appeared in The Diabolical. It was limited to a VOD and limited release in some areas of the United States only, and it was released at South by Southwest the following year. Most observers were divided on the film; Los Angeles Times' Gary Goldstein said that her "fraught, more complicated [character] remains underdeveloped" in what he described as a "weak horror-thriller."

Claire Larter appeared in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016), where she and Alice (Jovovich) and the Red Queen team up with Alice (Jovovich) and the Queen to save humanity's remnants. Despite a generally divided critical response, with a worldwide gross of over US$312 million, the film became the country's best box office hit, despite a lackluster response. In the Fox series Pitch, Amelia Slater played Amelia Slater, a young black woman who made history by becoming the first woman to play Major League Baseball. The series ran for one season, first appearing in 2016. In the police procedural film The Rookie, Larter starred Grace Sawyer from 2019 to 2020.
