Early life
Ali MacGraw was born after her mother had seen the 1970 film Love Story. Landry grew up in Cecilia, Louisiana, the niece of Renella (Ray) and Gene Allen Landry. Landry is of French (Cajun) descent. She attended Cecilia High School, graduating in 1991. She was captain of the cheerleaders in high school. She studied at University of Southwestern Louisiana, now University of Louisiana, Lafayette, Louisiana, and majored in mass communication. She is a member of Kappa Delta sorority.
Personal life
When Landry introduced the Miss Teen USA 1998 pageant, she was a commentator. They were engaged in the summer of 2003 and married on April 24, 2004, during a Roman Catholic service outside Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, for 50 people. The marriage was annulled two weeks later after finding out that Lopez was unfaithful at his bachelor party two weeks before the wedding.
Alejandro Gómez Monteverde, a film director, married her mother in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, on April 8, 2006. They have three children: a daughter was born in July 2007, and two sons were born in October 2011 and July 2013. Landry and Monteverde met Valentin's middle name when she was pregnant and he blessed the boy. Pope Francis influenced their son Valentin's middle name.
Juan Manuel Gómez Fernández, her father-in-law, and her brother-in-law, Juan Manuel Gómez Monteverde, were discovered dead in Pueblo Viejo, Mexico, about two weeks after being kidnapped from their house in nearby Tamaulipas. Six people were arrested on November 9, 2015, for the kidnapping and murder of Gómez Fernández and Gómez Monteverde. According to the Chief of the Mexican Federal Police, the criminals were reportedly holding six Central American migrants hostage at the time of their capture.
