Alexis Valdés is a Cuban actor, comedian, monologist, film director, and screenwriter.
He was born in Havana, Cuba, on August 16, 1963. Valdés obtained a degree in thermal engineering from Havana's Polytechnic José Antonio Echeverra.
He rose to fame in the 1980s thanks to his role as Bandurria in the Cuban television series Los pequeos fugitivos (The Little Fugitives).
He spent ten years in Cuba on television and theater, and then moved to Spain in 1991, where he became well known thanks to his appearances in El Club De La Comedia (The Comedy Club).
In 2005, he appeared, director, and producer of his first film, Un rey en La Habana.
He later moved to Miami, where he broadcast his comedic show Seguro Que Yes on AméricaTeVé until late July 2007, when "Seguro Que Yes" went on hiatus.

Alexis Valdés first appeared on Cuban television show Los pequeos fugitivos, where he starred Bandurria, a tragic, yet humourous character that captivated Cuban audiences and earned Valdés critical acclaim. Cristinito, a goofy character who is convinced he is a genius, was inspired by Bandurria later. In the Cuban and Cuban-American cultures, Cristinito is very popular.
Valdés made a name for himself in the Cuban scene over the next decade, before relocating to Spain in 1991. Valdés began his career as a comedian on Saturday, appearing in shows such as El Club De La Comedia (The Comedy Club), a popular Spanish venue where comedians perform monologues for a live audience. In 2005, he moved to the United States, where he has appeared on shows including Seguro, Esta noche tu night, and El show de Alexis Valdés. He wrote and directed his first film, Un rey en La Habana, in which he appeared also in 2005. Valdés has appeared in several other films over his career.
