Mixed martial arts career

Emelianenko made his professional mixed martial arts (MMA) debut against Brazilian Assuerio Silva on October 5, 2003 (2003-10-05), defeating Silva by a split vote.

Emelianenko fought against Brazilian fighter Angelo Araujo at Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye 2003 Inoki Festival, defeating Araujo by TKO after Emelianenko cut Araujo above the right eye and the doctor called off the match.

Emelianenko defeated Australian Matt Foki by rear naked choke in the first round at PRIDE Bushido 3.

Emelianenko was disqualified in the first round by KO (head kick) by Croat Mirko Cro Cop, one of the top heavyweight candidates in the sport at the time, in his fourth professional combat (2004-08-15).

Emelianenko fought in the MFC Middleweight GP on October 9th (2004-10-09), the first time Emelianenko had battled outside Japan.

Emelianenko defeated English brawler James Thompson in eleven seconds at Pride 28 (2004-10-31) on October 31, 2004, the first fight to date for Emelianenko.

Emelianenko's second professional defeat, against Pride Absolute Elimination Absolute (2006-05-05) at the Beijing International Exhibition Centre, King of Pancrase Josh Barnett just defeated Emelianenko with a keylock, after Emelianenko slipped and Barnett took advantage of this in the second round of the Pride 2006 Openweight Grand Prix. Emelianenko dominated the entire tournament, winning by a landslide in the next round of the tournament. Emelianenko used his ferocious hitting exchanges during the first round to smash Barnett's nose. Emelianenko had fever and sickness before the fight, and doctors had advised him not to attend that night because it was the Openweight Grand Prix, the most prestigious tournament at the time.

Emelianenko defeated former colleague and colleague Sergei Kharitonov by TKO in a back-and-forth match, which culminated in Emelianenko punching and kneeing Kharitonov firmly on the ground, causing the referee to call off the match at Pride Final Conflict Absolute on September 10, 2006 (2006-09-10).

Emelianenko defeated American super heavyweight Dan Bobish by submission in the first round of Hardcore Championship Fighting in Calgary for the first time in North America, originally scheduled to face Wesley Correira. This was Bobish's last professional match as he injured his back in the fight and refused to have surgery.

Emelianenko, a Brazilian Silvao Santos, defeated Santos by TKO (punch) at M-1 Challenge 2, returning to Saint Petersburg on April 3r 2008 (2008-04-04-03).

Emelianenko was signed to make his United States debut at Affliction: Banned on July 19, 2008 (2008-07-19). However, Emelianenko was unable to comply with the California State Athletic Commission's licensing requirements at the weigh-ins for the case. Gary Goodridge took over Emelianenko's role.

Emelianenko denied rumors about a positive test for Hepatitis B, saying he was unable to participate due to visa issues, two days after the planned date for his medical services with the CSAC had been postponed. The CSAC was not allowed to comment why Emelianenko was refused a license in California, but a CSAC member said Emelianenko was not and would not be cleared in California, and that this would hold for both of the United States of America.

Emelianenko had also planned to attend Affliction's Day of Reckoning on October 11, 2008 (2008-10-11), but was unable to participate in any scheme due to continued enrollment issues in August 2008. (2008-08).

Emelianenko defeated South Korean Sang Soo Lee via KO (punches) in the first round and returned to Europe on November 21.

Emelianenko retired from Red Devil Sport Club on March 3, 2009 (2009-03-03).

Emelianenko beat rival Russian Ibragim Magomedov in 51 seconds, but Emelianenko won by TKO in 51 seconds after Magomedov was close to knocking Emelianenko out, but the referee called off the match after the ring doctor checked the injury.

Emelianenko was supposed to compete in South Korea on September 29 (2009-09-29), but Ivanov, a Bulgarian Sambo practitioner who had defeated Emelianenko's brother Fedor in the 2008 World Sambo Championships, was disqualified, so Emelianenko decided to postpone the match against Kazuyuki Fujita, which had left the date in the air, so Emelianenko withdrew.

Emelianenko's next match was on April 23, 2010 (2010-04-23) at ProFC: Commonwealth Cup against Swedish wrestler Eddy Bengtsson after a year without professional MMA matches. Emelianenko formed the AE Team, which he began to represent in his war against Bengtsson.

Emelianenko was in talks with Polish promotion KSW (Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki) during July 2010 (2010-07) for a potential match against strongman Mariusz Pudzianowski, which culminated in a verbal deal. However, in a Polsat News interview on August 3, 2010, (2010-08-03), KSW co-owner Maciej Kawulski said that Emelianenko will not fight in KSW, and that Emelianenko had Hepatitis C. Emelianenko denied this and demanded an apology from KSW. During the scandal, a former Emelianenko critic said he believed Emelianenko had Hepatitis B, not C.

Strefa Walk, a Polish MMA promotion, decided to announce the findings of medical examinations that Emelianenko reportedly conducted on August 10 (102010-08-10). According to these tests, he had none of the hepatitis strains and, therefore, was fit to fight for the promotion. Independent licensing organizations have yet to investigate the tests findings or recognize the findings.

Stefa Walk announced on Twitter that it would be a clash between Emelianenko and Strikeforce champion Alistair Overeem, which Bas Boon, the founder of Golden Glory, announced to a Polish MMA website that it was in talks, but Overeem later announced on Twitter that he did not want to fight Emelianenko, but that he did not want to face Emelianenko, but that he was not going to fight Emelianenko

Emelianenko knocked out a north-south choke from American wrestler Jeff Monson in the second round of their match at M-1 Challenge 35: Emelianenko vs. Monson at the Ice Palace in Saint Petersburg on November 15, 2012. On December 18, 2012, he declared his withdrawal from MMA through an open letter sent to his followers, blaming a persistent injury and a lack of time for his family as contributing factors in his decision.

Emelianenko, who had announced his retirement, has announced that he would return to MMA with ProFC. However, his first match since retirement was against American MMA superstar Bob Sapp on May 25, 2013 in Moscow, but it was not at the Legend Fighting Show against American MMA superstar Bob Sapp. In Round 1, Alexander defeated Bob Sapp by TKO.

Alexander had been scheduled to meet Darrill Schoonover in Rostov-on-Don in Russia on August 25, but he was unable to due to a knee injury. Emelianenko said in a video posted on the ProFC website that he hoped to go forward with the much-anticipated rematch against Mirko Cro Cop scheduled for November under the Legend Fighting Show banner.

Emelianenko was released from jail on November 24, 2016.

He signed a deal with the Akhmat Fighting Club for several fights after his release. Alexander participated in the WFCA 42 tournament against Brazilian Geronimo dos Santos on September 27, 2017. Alexander knocked him out early in the first round as early as 36 seconds. In December, two more victories followed: over American Virgil Zwicker at "WFCA 44" and Pole Szymon Bayor at "Battle of the Volga" in March 2018.
