Alexa Bliss Life

Alexis Kaufman (born August 9, 1991) is an American professional wrestler.

She is signed to WWE, where she performs on the SmackDown brand under the ring name Alexa Bliss. In May 2013, she signed a contract with WWE and was assigned to WWE Performance Center and developmental brand NXT in Orlando, Florida.

Bliss made her main roster debut on the SmackDown brand, eventually becoming SmackDown Women's Champion as well as the first competitor to hold the title twice.

She was transferred to the Raw brand in April 2017 and won the Raw Women's Championship later that month, becoming the first woman to have won both the Raw and SmackDown Women's titles in WWE.

In February 2018, she won the first-ever women's Elimination Chamber match.

She won the 2018 Money in the Bank ladder match and cashed in the contract later that night to win her third Raw Women's Championship.

In 2019, Bliss and Nikki Cross would win the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship, making Bliss the second Women's Triple Crown Champion.

Overall, Bliss has won six championships in WWE.

Early life

Alexis Kaufman was born on August 9, 1991, in Columbus, Ohio, to teenage parents who were still in high school at the time of her birth. She has been involved in sports since the age of five, competing in track, kickboxing, softball, and gymnastics. She was also a cheerleader at Hilliard Davidson High School and reached Division I status at the University of Akron, where she graduated with an M.A. in medical dietetics. She spent time in competitive fitness competitions, and has competed in the Arnold Classic. At the age of 15, she had a life-threatening eating disorder, but turning to fitness competitions helped her overcome it. With her parents' permission, she also received breast augmentation when she was 17 to help overcome her eating disorders by making her feel more feminine, as her breasts stayed small naturally when she finished puberty and helped contribute to her eating disorders.

Personal life

Kaufman has been an avid fan of Disney since the age of three, which she attributes to her family's annual trips to Walt Disney World despite their low income at the time. She enjoys cosplaying, which has inspired many of her wrestling outfits such as Freddy Krueger, Harley Quinn, Iron Man, The Riddler, Supergirl, and Chucky. She also supports her hometown, Columbus Blue Jackets. She has cited Trish Stratus and Rey Mysterio as her influences in wrestling.

Kaufman was previously engaged to fellow professional wrestler Matthew Adams, better known by the ring name Buddy Murphy, and now known by the name Buddy Matthews. They ended their engagement in 2018, but remained friends. She had a pet pig named Larry-Steve, whom she shared with Adams, but the pig died on May 25, 2021.

In February 2020, Kaufman began dating musician Ryan Cabrera. They got engaged on November 14. The couple were married on April 9, 2022, in Palm Desert, California, upon which she adopted her husband's last name Cabrera.

Alexa Bliss Career

Professional wrestling career

Kaufman was signed by WWE in May 2013 and reported to WWE's NXT's developmental territory. On July 24 episode of NXT (which was taped on June 20th), she made her first televised appearance, congratulating the inaugural NXT Women's Champion Paige. Alexa Bliss, the ring name, was added to WWE.com's NXT roster page in August and given the ring name Alexa Bliss. For the NXT's November 20 episode, she appeared as an unidentified ring announcer. When she was an infant in Triple H's entrance, she made her first television appearance on the main roster. On May 8, she made her television debut on a NXT show "Bling Bling" with her ring entrance set to the theme "Bling Bling," in a tournament for the vacant NXT Women's Championship. In the first round, she defeated former Divas Champion Alicia Fox, but she lost to Charlotte in the semi-finals. For the first time with her match against Bayley, a new ring entrance theme tune "Blissful" debuted on September 25th episode of NXT. Bliss lost to a Bayley-to-Belly Suplex after a failed Double-Knees attempt.

Bliss returned to NXT on March 11, 2015, where she defeated Carmella during a hiatus due to a legitimate injury. On NXT Women's Champion Sasha Banks by countout in a non-title match, which culminated in Bliss winning a title match against Banks on March 25. She lost by the following week. On the backstage of the NXT episode on April 29, Bliss had an altercation with Carmella. Bliss was consoled by NXT Tag Team Champions Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake, who were standing in the background, after being slapped. After Blake and Murphy set up a distraction, Bliss landed a sparkle Splash and stunned Carmella on May 13. For the first time in her WWE career, Blake and Murphy defeated Colin Cassady and Enzo Amore, turning them into a team ally and transforming into a villainess character. Bliss, who has now changed the blue in her hair, as well as changed her ring attire to a black two-piece with matching name and markings to the Blake and Murphy ring gear, was accompanied to the ring on May 27 on a non-title tag team match against Elias Samson and Mike Rallis, Blake, and Murphy. Blake and Murphy won, and Bliss scored a sparkle Splash to the incapacitated Elias during this match. With the effects of Takeover: Unstoppable still fresh, Bliss and Carmella had a singles match against Carmella on June 3 in NXT's singles match. "Opposite Ends Of The World" will be the theme track for this match, as well as Bliss', and she was joined by Blake and Murphy, who remained on the ring side for the duration of the competition. By securing a Roll-up and grabbing the second rope for more leverage, Bliss was able to win this match. Blake and Murphy were able to save the NXT Tag Team Championship against the Valiantvillains on July 29 episode, and after the match, they slapped both English and Gotch. On August 22, the Valiants were given a rematch for the NXT Tag Team Championship against Blake and Murphy at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, which they won after the Blue Pants barred Bliss from providing a distraction during the game. For the first time on air, Bliss wore her signature skeleton gloves. The disruptions in Brooklyn resulted in a match between the two teams, in which Bliss will face Blue Pants in a singles match on September 2 of NXT. She gave her signature hand gesture to her entrance, which she would use often for the next five years.

Bliss was embroiled in a feud with Bayley over the NXT Women's Championship from October to November. A referee dropped Per William Regal, Blake, and Murphy from ringside for this match on November 18th on NXT's forthcoming main event match with Bayley. When it came time for Alexa's debut, a new theme tune called "Spiteful" was unveiled for the first time. As Bayley slapped joy, Bliss was unable to capture the title, before she finally had to hold a Bayley-to-Belly Suplex. On January 13, 2016, the Bliss episode of NXT featured a number one contender's battle royal, but lost. The trio officially disbanded the trio on May 18th episode of NXT, Bliss, and Blake. Bliss competed in a triple threat match against Carmella and Nia Jax on May 25 to determine the top contender for Asuka's NXT Women's Championship, which was dominated by Jax. Bliss debuts the Goddess ring clothing in a match against Bayley on July 6th. Bayley won the pinfall match after a Bayley-to-Belly Suplex put in an end. On August 17 episode of NXT, Bliss performed in a tag team match with Daria Berenato and Mandy Rose, in which they were defeated by Carmella, Liv Morgan, and Nikki Glencross in what would be her last match in NXT.

As part of the 2016 WWE draft, Bliss was introduced to the SmackDown brand on July 19. She made her main roster debut on July 26 in a segment focusing on the brand's women's division. On August 9, Bliss scored her first victory on the main roster by defeating Becky Lynch. In a winning battle against Lynch, Carmella, and Naomi, she teamed with Natalya and Nikki Bella on August 21 in a thrilling contest. Bliss defeated Becky Lynch in a six-pack elimination fight on September 11 at Backlash to determine the inaugural SmackDown Women's Champion.

Bliss advanced to a championship match against Lynch at No Mercy on September 13 in a fatal five-way match. However, the match was postponed for Lynch's November 8 episode of SmackDown, where Lynch successfully defended the title against Bliss due to his legitimate injury. Bliss competed in the Raw vs. SmackDown Women's elimination tag team match at Survivor Series on November 20, where her squad lost the match. Bliss defeated Lynch in a table match on December 4 at TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs, becoming the new SmackDown Women's Champion.

Bliss successfully defended her title against Lynch in a steel cage match on January 17, 2017 after a backlash from Bliss' returning Mickie James, who identified herself with Bliss. At Elimination Chamber, Bliss handed over the title to Naomi on February 12. Bliss retained the title for the second time after Naomi was forced to abandon the sport due to injury, becoming the first two-time SmackDown Women's Champion. Bliss' relationship with Mickie James ended shortly after, and the two will face each other in a match on SmackDown Live, with James defeating Bliss. In a six-pack competition involving Carmella, James Lynch, Lynch, and Natalya, Bliss lost the championship to Naomi on April 2nd. On April 4 episode of SmackDown Live, where Bliss was again defeated.

Bliss, a raw Bliss episode from April 10, 2017, was drafted to the Raw brand as part of the Superstar Shake-up, versus Raw Women's Champion Bayley. Bliss triumphed in a close four-way match to become the number one contender for the title a week later. On Payback, Bliss defeated Bayley to become the first Raw Women's Champion in the country's first woman to win the Raw and SmackDown Women's Championships in the process. Bliss started a feud with Sasha Banks, whom she defeated on July 9 at Great Balls of Fire via count-out before losing the title to Banks on August 20 at SummerSlam, snapping her reign at 112 days. On Raw, she regained the title eight days later.

Bliss continued to defend her title at No Mercy on September 24 in a critical five-way match against Bayley, Nia Jax, Emma, and Sasha Banks. Bliss was then confronted on Raw by Mickie James the following night, after he had been mocked for her remarks by Bliss. On TLC's Tables, Ladders & Chairs, Bliss defeated James to keep the title, and did so again on the October 30 episode of Raw.

Bliss captured the inaugural women's elimination chamber match on February 25, 2018, at Elimination Chamber, after she successfully held her position. She took part in the Mixed Match Challenge tournament with Braun Strowman as her partner, and the pair was able to progress to the semi-finals of the tournament, where they were defeated by eventual winners Asuka and The Miz. Bliss lost the title to Nia Jax on April 8 at WrestleMania 34, putting her bangs to an end. Bliss invoked her rematch clause and challenged Nia Jax for the title on May 6 at Backlash; however, she was unable and sustained a shoulder injury during the match.

Bliss won a triple threat match against Bayley and Mickie James in mid-May, winning a spot in the Bank ladder match, which she would return to win at the event on June 17. Bliss fought Nia Jax and defeated her in their first match on Nia Jax, winning the Raw Women's Championship for the third time on the same night. After winning the Money in the Bank contract the next night, she became the first woman and third wrestler overall to cash-in the money. In the inaugural women's extreme rules match against Jax, Bliss retained the championship against Jax, effectively ending the feud. On August 19, Bliss lost the championship to Ronda Rousey, putting an end to her reign at 63 days. In a rematch at Hell in a Cell the following month, she failed to regain the crown.

In October, Bliss and Mickie James began a feud with WWE Hall of Famers Trish Stratus and Lita, which resulted in the reveal of a tag team match between the two teams at WWE Evolution, the first ever all women's pay-per-view match. However, just three days before the game, Bliss was forced to miss the match due to a concussion she sustained during her match against Ronda in a Cell, and Alicia Fox was on hand to replace her. It was also revealed that Bliss would be taking time off from in-ring competition to recover from various injuries.

Bliss was crowned Team Captain of Team Raw in a non-wrestling role in a non-wrestling match at the Survivor Series tournament in which they were victorious. Acting Raw General Manager Baron Corbin announced the new head of the Raw women's division the following night on the November 18 episode of Raw. Since the McMahon family announced that they were re-in charge of Raw and SmackDown in December, Bliss' position, as well as those of other authority figures on Raw and SmackDown, was suspended.

On January 7, 2019, Bliss' episode titled A Moment of Bliss, in which she interviewed several guests as the segment's host. Bliss competed in her first women's Royal Rumble match, lasting 12 minutes and excluding Ember Moon and Sonya Deville before being defeated by Bayley and Carmella on January 27, ending nearly five months in ring hiatus. The WrestleMania 35 festival was held in Bliss in April. In her first singles match since being banned from in-ring competition in late 2018, Raw, Bliss defeated Bayley in the following night. Bliss was teamed up with Lacey Evans to defeat Dana Brooke and Nikki Cross in a dark match at The Shield's Final Chapter tournament. Bliss was announced as a participant of the annual Money in the Bank ladder competition at the namesake pay-per-view just shy of the event. However, she was unable to participate in the event and was therefore barred from the match.

After winning a triple threat match to become the top contender for Bayley's SmackDown Women's Championship at Stomping Grounds, where Bliss failed to win the title from Bayley in June. Bliss joined Nikki Cross in her first attempt at capturing the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship, defeating The IIconics (Billie Kay and Peyton Royce), which ultimately ended in defeat for Bliss and Cross. At Extreme Rules, Bliss and Cross will face Bayley in a two-on-one handicap match, where Bayley will defend the championship by defeating Bliss.

In a thrilling four-way tag team elimination match involving The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) and Fire and Desire (Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville), on August 5th in a thrilling four-way tag team elimination match involving The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) and Fire and Desire). At Battle of Champions, Bliss and Cross retained their titles against Fire and Desire. They lost the titles to The Kabuki Warriors after Asuka spat green mist in Cross's face, turning them face in the process. This will be Bliss' first appearance on the main roster. Despite being created separately instead of as a team in the 2019 Draft, Bliss and Cross stayed on the Raw brand, but the team was later moved to the SmackDown brand. Bliss and Cross were involved in a life-changing four-way tag team match for the Women's Tag Team Championship in Starrcade, but the Kabuki Warriors dominated the tournament, defeating the defending champions. On January 26, 2020, Bliss participated in the namesake match, killing Kairi Sane, Mia Yim, and Chelsea Green, but Bianca Belair had to stop him.

On the weekend of WrestleMania 36, Bliss and Cross reignited their rivalry with the Kabuki Warriors, as Bliss advanced to a match against Asuka on March 27 of SmackDown, earning them a spot in the Women's Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania. For the second time, the duo defeated The Kabuki Warriors to win the championships for the second time, becoming the first multi-time WWE Women's Tag Team Champions at the tournament. They defeated them again in a rematch for their titles on SmackDown two weeks later, defeating them again in a rematch for their titles. Raw, Bliss, and Cross regained their titles against The IIconics by disqualification on May 18, despite losing to them in a non-title match the week before. The pair lost their positions to Bayley and Sasha Banks on June 6, bringing their reign to an end at 62 days. Both Bliss and Cross were unsuccessful in regaining their positions in a triple threat tag team match involving The IIconics, despite Banks' winning as Bliss rolled up Bliss.

Bliss appeared in a film match between Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt at Extreme Rules. Bliss' image was used to draw Strowman's admiration for her. On the 31 episode of SmackDown, Bliss was later involved in the storyline between Strowman and Wyatt, when she was targeted by Wyatt's alter ego, The Fiend. With Bliss going into trance and using his finisher, Sister Abigail, Bliss' involvement with The Fiend will continue in the coming months.

Both Bliss and The Fiend were created to the Raw brand as part of the 2020 Draft in October. On October 26 episode of Raw, special guest Randy Orton hosted A Moment of Bliss, a feud was launched between The Fiend as well as The Fiend. During the segment's beginning, Bliss was also given the theme song "The Fury." After the Fiend was written off television, Bliss took over the feud with Orton as she wanted him to see the repercussions of his TLC's conduct.

She took part in the Women's Royal Rumble event in Rumble, but Rhea Ripley took the lead after about a minute. Bliss' appearance gradually grew older from January to March 20,21, as she began to actively participate in Orton's matches. This transformation sparked her excitement for her impending intergender match against Orton at Fastlane. She used supernatural powers to attack Orton, including a lighting rig falling and almost land on him, as well as throwing a fireball at him during the game. The Fiend returned to Orton and defeated Orton, allowing Bliss to defeat Orton. When Bliss first appeared in The Fiend's corner for his match against Orton, he was deterred, allowing Orton to defeat him. On the following RAW, Bliss announced that The Fiend had been her mentor, but she no longer needed him. Lilly, a demonic looking doll, was then introduced to her new friend.

Bliss will launch a feud with Shayna Baszler on May 31 on Raw, with Baszler claiming that Bliss was the reason why Baszler and Jax lost the WWE Women's Tag Team titles. Baszler and Bliss will then meet in a Cell at Hell in a Cell. Bliss would overthrowrown Baszler in the event. Bliss is expected to appear more often throughout the month of June, and it was announced that Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross would face Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler in a Money in the Bank Qualifier tag team match against Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler on June 21. When Cross pinned Baszler with a cradle in the middle of the fight, Bliss and Cross gained the victory. This was the first team victory for Bliss and Cross since the May 12, 2020 Raw taping (May 18 airing). On July 12, Bliss would launch a feud with Eva Marie. On the August 16 episode of Raw, a match between Bliss and Marie was revealed. Marie will be defeated by Bliss at the tournament. Bliss failed to win the Raw Women's Championship from Charlotte Flair at Extreme Rules, and Flair would tear up Lilly after the match. Bliss entered a challenge in the Raw Women's Championship, knocking out Liv Morgan and then being eliminated by Bianca Belair at Elimination Chamber. Bliss made her return to Raw on May 9, 2022, defeating Sonya Deville after the former's deal as a WWE official was terminated. Bliss defeated the 24/7 Championship for the first time by pinning Nikki A.S.H. before losing the title to Doudrop immediately during a six-woman tag team match on July 18th episode of Raw.
