Alex Mallari Jr. (born 19 February 1988) is a Canadian actor best known for his role as Four/Ryo Tetsuda/Ryo Ishida in the 2015 Syfy television series Dark Matter.
Life and career
Mallari was born in the Philippines on February 19, 1988, but he was raised in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. Mallari was in Taekwondo, with a third degree black belt. He was twice a junior National Taekwondo champion. Nevertheless, he gave it up when he was 13. He had intended to become a basketball player, but an injury prevented him from pursuing this career.
Mallari decided to pursue acting while attending the University of Toronto. Four was his first notable acting role in the Syfy television series Dark Matter, based on the same comic book series. For three seasons, he appeared on the series from 2015 to 2017.
He has appeared in many films and television series, including the Netflix feature film The Adam Project and the Netflix series Ginny & Georgia (2021–present).
