Alesso Career

Music career

Lindblad was born in Stockholm and is of Swedish and Italian descent. He started playing piano at the age 7, but by the time he was 16 years old, he became interested in Electronic Dance Music. He first became well-known in 2010 with the introduction of his Alesso EP. Sebastian Ingrosso of Swedish House Mafia called Alesso in early 2011 and asked if he wanted to work together. Ingrosso introduced him to DJing and assisted him with track development.

Ingrosso has served as a mentor for Alesso, who referred to the elder Swede as a "big brother" during this period.

Despite learning to DJ in 2011, Alesso made his debut on DJ Magazine's list of the top 100 DJs at number 70 in the same year.

"Calling," Alesso's first album, debuted at number two on the Beatport charts. With an additional feature from Ryan Tedder, the song will be renamed "Calling (Lose My Mind)" later. Alesso's 2011 remix of "Pressure" by Nadia Ali debuted on The Hype Machine, becoming one of the most popular EDM songs of 2011.

His fame has continued to grow from that point. He was named one of the "EDM Rookies to Watch in 2012" on MTV, and he appeared on BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix in March 2012. He appeared at Creamfields for a crowd of 60,000 people and accompanied Madonna on her MDNA World Tour at select European shows. Alesso had already released "Years" with Matthew Koma, which had a hit in the United Kingdom by the end of 2012. He was ranked 20th on DJ Magazine's list of the top DJs of 2012.

Alesso had appeared at music festivals, such as Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra Music Festival, and Tomorrowland by 2013. He performed a remix of "If I Lose Myself" by OneRepublic, which was nominated for Grammy and attracted almost a million listeners on SoundCloud in a short time. Alesso created "Under Control," a video game that attracted 88 million viewers in a partnership with Calvin Harris and Hurts. He achieved his highest ranking on the top 100 DJs in 2013 at number 13.

Alesso signed with Def Jam Recordings in July 2014, becoming the second EDM artist to sign with the company after Afrojack. He debuted "Tear the Roof Up," which Zane Lowe described as a "Future Exclusive" on his website. In September 2014, SnapChat's music video "Tear The Roof Up" was released exclusively through SnapChat. He began his "Heroes Tour," named after his single "Heroes (We Should Be)" starring Tove Lo.

Alesso joined Chime for Change, a worldwide charity that aims to "improve the lives of women around the world," during the tour. As of October 2014, Alesso's involvement with the charity has raised over $50,000. His debut studio album had been supposed to be released in the first quarter of 2015, but it was later announced on May 22nd, 2015. Both "Heroes (We Should Be)" and "Tear the Roof Up" are included in the book.

On December 15, 2014, the single "Heroes (We Could Be)" was first released. On BBC Radio 1, his new single, titled "Cool" and starring Roy English, premiered on February 13, 2015. The album, which samples Kylie Minogue's "Get Outta My Way," was officially released in Europe on February 16, 2015, and in North America on February 17, 2015.

On September 30, 2016, Jolin Tsai, a Taiwanese singer, was officially announced in his latest version of "I Wanna Know" starring Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai. Alesso and Tsai concluded the International Music Summit with a talk about what it takes to bridge the gap between East and West in electronic music. At the Storm Music Festival in Shanghai, Alesso and Tsai performed "I Wanta Know" and a remix version of Tsai's hit "Play" together on October 1, 2016. Alesso would debut a new version of the song "Years" on October 4th, the band's Chen, collaborating with the K-pop group Exo. The song was released on October 7th on SM Station. During the Ultra Music Festival Taiwan, Alesso premiered "Take My Breath Away," co-produced by Dillon Francis. On October 21, 2016, the single was released a few weeks later.

Alesso embarked on his European Tour in 2018, highlighted by his closing appearance at Belgium's Tomorrowland festival. Alesso and Tiesto will headline the tenth anniversary of Electric Zoo later this year.

Alesso debuted his latest single, "Remedy," on ABC's Good Morning America in August 2018. Alesso was joined by singer Conor Maynard for the song's appearance at Central Park in New York City. Remedy also landed at number one on the US Dance Airplay chart.

In October 2018, Alesso appeared at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles for three back-to-back sold-out shows. He appeared in Brooklyn and San Francisco earlier this year.

"Tilted Towers," Alesso's final single release of the year, was released on Twitch, where over fifty thousand viewers watched it live on Twitch. The song's name is based on a common map from the video game Fortnite, which Alesso and Ninja live streamed together to promote the track's introduction.

He was also included in Netflix's 'Vai Anitta' docu-series, which follows the life of fellow Shots Studios' superstar Anitta (singer). The series's first installment of "Is That for Me" and the following music video shoot in the Amazon jungle focuses on their collaborative single "Is That for Me."

Alesso's year ended with a New Year's Eve appearance at Fontainebleau Resort in Miami. He co-headlined the performance alongside Colombian reggaeton actor J Balvin, where the two performed at the venue's poolside.
