Admiral Schofield Life

Admiral Donovhan Schofield (born March 30, 1997) is an American professional basketball player for the National Basketball Association (NBA).

He played college basketball for the Tennessee Volunteers.

Early life

Schofield, Anthony and Dawn Schofield's son, was born in London at St Mary's Hospital. O'Brien Schofield, his brother, has been a linebacker for the Seattle Seahawks and has won a Super Bowl. He has another brother General and a sister Octavia, as well as Joshua, a seventh brother who drowned in Lake Michigan in 2007. Admiral Schofield played center at Zion-Benton High School. He had 23 points with 18 rebounds against Stevenson in his last high school game. He competed for Dickey Simpkins' Team NLP in AAU competition. Donnie Tyndall recruited him to Tennessee, but Schofield decided not to return after Tyndall was fired.

College career

As a freshman, Schofield averaged 7.6 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. He missed three games as a sophomore before being suspended for breaching team rules. In a loss to Florida, he only scored 3.5 points per game in nonconference play but started to fall out during the conference season and scored his first double-double of 18 points and ten rebounds. Schofield averaged 8.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game as a sophomore at Tennessee.

Schofield was selected as a junior in the SEC Championship game's loss to Kentucky due to his 22-point effort. Schofield averaged 13.9 points and 6.5 rebounds per game as a junior. He aided Tennessee to a 26-9 record and the second round of the NCAA tournament. Schofield had 15 points and 12 rebounds in the first round victory over Wright State. Schofield was selected to the Second Team All-SEC. Following the season, he declared for the 2018 NBA draft but did not recruit an agent, leaving open the possibility of returning to the Volunteers. Schofield returned to Tennessee on May 29.

Schofield averaged 16.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per game as a senior. He was selected to the First Team All-SEC. He coached Tennessee to a 31-06 record and the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament. Schofield finished with 21 points in his last game, a 99-94 overtime loss to Purdue.

Professional career

Schofield was first drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round of the 2019 NBA draft and was immediately traded to the Washington Wizards. In July, he agreed to a three-year, $4.3 million contract with the Wizards. Schofield joined Hulu Sports as a pitchman in August. Schofield was drafted to the Capital City Go-Goals, a basketball team in the NBA G League. He became the first Wizards player to play a game for the Go-Go and Wizards on the same day on December 4th. In a 123-89 loss to the Orlando Magic, Schofield had 18 points, six rebounds, and two assists off the bench on January 8, 2020. Schofield appeared in 27 games for the Wizards before the break of the NBA season, averaging 3.1 points and 1.3 rebounds per game, shooting 40.0 percent from the floor. He started all 33 games for the Go-Go, scoring 16.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 30.9 minutes per game.

Schofield was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder along with V.t Krej for Cassius Winston and a 2024 second-round pick on November 19, 2020. However, the Thunder had drafted him out of the preseason at the end of the season. He was first overall pick of the NBA G League draft on January 11, 2021, by the Greensboro Swarm. He averaged 10.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 26.2 minutes per game in 14 games.

Schofield made his NBA Summer League debut in August 2021, defeating the Boston Celtics 85-83. He signed with the Orlando Magic on September 21, 2021, but at the end of training camp, he was suspended. On October 28, he joined the Lakeland Magic and played 12 games, averaging 14.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 33.0 minutes per game.

Schofield agreed to a 10-day deal with the Orlando Magic on December 17, 2021. On December 27, he began his second 10-day contract with the team. He had committed to a two-way relationship on January 6, 2022. Schofield was fined $20,000 by the NBA for his involvement in an on-court altercation during a game against the Charlotte Hornets two days later on April 9.

Schofield began a new two-way deal with the Magic on July 22, 2022.
