Career

Higginbotham started his career in television by submitting a spec script for Will & Grace, and he spent time as a producer on the show from 2005 to 2006. He served as co-executive producer for Back to You in 2007 and as an executive producer for Do Not Disturb in 2008. Higginbotham, a writer and editor for Modern Family, and writer for Ugly Betty, wrote for and produced for Family Guy since 2010.

Higginbotham co-created Happy Accident for ABC, a upcoming comedy in which he will appear as executive producer and writer in November 2018. However, the series was eventually cancelled by the network. In August 20, 20, a Higginbotham executive produced and cowrote two episodes of Netflix's Uncoupled starring Neil Patrick Harris.
