Abhishek Bachchan Career

Career

Bachchan made his film debut in J. P. Dutta's war drama Refugee opposite Kareena Kapoor, who was also making her debut in the film in 2000. Despite the fact that the film only did moderately well at the box office, both Bachchan and Kapoor's performances have received glowing feedback. Taran Adarsh, a film critic, said that he "has all it takes to become a good actor in years to come." Even in his debut film, Abhishek comes across as a mature actor and lives up to his family name."

In the 2001 film Kabhi Khushi Gham..., Bachchan shot for a cameo, a scene that was later cut out of the film.

Bachchan appeared in a string of poorly received films that failed to make a name for herself at the box office, following Refugee. However, his appearance in Sooraj R. Barjatya's romantic drama Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon (2003) earned him his first nomination for Best Supporting Actor, despite the fact that the film was a flop. He went on to win the award the following year for his role in Mani Ratnam's political drama Yuva (2004). Since naming Abhishek Bachchan as one of the best actors of the 2000s and onwards, Hrithik Roshan has named him one of the finest actors of the 2000s and onwards.
