Aaron Gillespie Career

Musical career

Gillespie had appeared on every Underoath album before (disambiguation) and first began to add clean vocals on Underoath's third album The Changing of Times, which converted Underoath's original extreme metal music style to a more modern metalcore sound, and was first released in 2002. Spencer Chamberlain arrived and the band began to change its sound even more after lead vocalist Dallas Taylor left the band.

Gillespie wrote the majority of the songs on the album They're Only Chasing Safety, which is about him and his four-year marriage. "I think I would've died if we didn't write those songs," he told Alternative Press. I felt I had saved someone's life. It's difficult to explain, but you can't just pretend that everything is fine and get married. They're Only Chasing Safety, Define the Great Line was the follow-up to They're Only Chasing Safety, and it debuted at No. 1 on June 20, 2006. The Billboard 200's first week saw over 98,000 copies sold, the RIAA's Gold medal on November 11, 2006, representing 500,000 shipped units of the album.

The band and Gillespie had agreed to mutually part ways pending the conclusion of their European tour on April 5, 2010. Gillespie wrote a letter on his personal blog on the same day. The band reunited on August 17, 2015, according to a media interview for Alternative Press, Chamberlain and Gillespie.

Gillespie performed lead vocals for the Almost, an alternative rock band. On April 3, 2007, the band's debut album Southern Weather, as well as their first single "Say This Sooner" was released. The single reached a record of No. 69. The Billboard's US Modern Rock Charts Number 7 ranks 7th. Gillespie played every instrument on the Southern Weather album save for bass on a few tracks, with which Kenny Vasoli of The Starting Line assisted.

The Almost released an EP on November 24, 2008: No Gift to Bring.

They released another EP, Monster EP, on October 6, 2009. They released Monster Monster, their second album, on which the majority of the band members were more involved in the writing and recording process.

Fear Inside Our Bones, the band's third full-length album, was released on June 11, 2013.

Gillespie said in an interview published on Emery's BadChristian podcast on February 8, 2015 that he had given the band less importance, citing his "busy schedule" (as Paramore's touring drummer, a solo singer, and producer) and the other band members' "busy schedules."

Fear Caller, their fourth full-length album, was announced on September 24, 2019, followed by "Chokehold" as a part of the announcement.

Gillespie revealed that he was working on a worship-based solo project shortly after leaving Underoath. On June 28, 2010, he began recording the album that would be released in March 2011. On July 24, he wrote "finished my record." It's so cool to be a part of it. "Goodnight" is the English word that has emerged in this post. Anthem Song, Gillespie's solo album, was released on March 8, 2011. It debuted on Billboard 200 at number 90.

Gillespie's return to his musical roots, which began in worship, was "Anthem Song." In an interview with CBN.com, Gillespie chronicled the experience and how traveling to Africa inspired Anthem Song. "I saw people worshiping God because He exists" because that's what we were supposed to do, according to him. I believe everyone worships something, whether it be your work, your family, or a special someone or some other. We were all supposed to worship just one, and that is Jesus. And it made me so sad to see these African people who have nothing to praise God because He exists. It gave me the confidence to continue and do this album, as well as the opportunity to leave Underoath and pursue this ministry field in my life."

Grace Through the Wandering, his second worship collection, was released on February 3, 2015. The record was set on the road while touring with Paramore and was compiled by Paramore's touring main player, John.

Gillespie's self-produced Out of the Badlands was released in 2016. Andrew Goldring, Gillespie's studio partner, appeared on Gillespie's Salt Lake City studio, Soundcave. The goldring engineered, mixed, and did a good job on record. The album is a departure from his previous worship album and instead focuses on his personal mourning and honesty.

Since Miles McPherson, the previous touring drummer for Paramore, sustained from an accident, Gillespie was officially named as the new touring drummer for Paramore on August 26, 2013. He was set to remain only for the duration of The Self-Titled Tour's European dates, but later stayed for the duration of the tour's North American fall tour, as well as the Australian and New Zealand legs. Gillespie has been with Paramore for the next few years, playing drums on the Monumentour (Paramore's co-headlining tour with the band Fallout Boy in 2014) and the Writing the Future Tour (in 2015), as well as two of the band's "Parahoy!" Cruises are divided into two versions (in March 2014) and the second one in March 2016. However, Gillespie said in February 2016 that his Paramore duties do not extend beyond live performances and that he is not involved in the band's songwriting/recording process. With the restoration of Paramore's original drummer and the revival of Underoath, Gillespie is now back with Underoath full time.

Bop Shop: Songs From Harry Styles, Rina Sawayama, Bad Bunny, And More

www.mtv.com, May 20, 2022
It's been a long search for the ever-elusive "bop" — a tyconian word. Playlists and streaming-service recommendations can only do so much. They often leave a lingering question: Are these songs really good, or are they just new? The MTV News staff has curated a hand-picked collection of songs. This weekly collection does not discriminate by gender and can include anything — it's a glimpse at what's on our minds and what looks good. We'll keep it fresh with the new tunes, but we'll still have a few oldies (but goodies) every once in a while. Get ready: The Bop Shop is now open for business.
